Why anyone would want to delay the journal writes is beyond me-- the whole point of journalling is for recovery. It's a bit hard to recover if you haven't got the recovery data.
But won't the journal writes be in the disk controller cache anyway? Even if the journal "thinks" they're written to disk they might still be lost, no? -Walden
