Back out the MS updates: Start - Control Panel - Add/Remove and make
sure the Show updates box is checked. Look for items with an
appropriate installed date.

If your Ops Console is in a reasonably secure environment, the updates
are probably not necessary. When I last used Ops Console, the PC wasn't
on the LAN so we left it at W2K SP2 or 3 with virtually no updates for
years.

I don't see what slipping the LIC will do in your case, because you
probably have more MF ptfs on your system at this point, then you will

have once you reslip the LIC with an RSB I_Base cd.

That's what SL told me too.

Now get this. MS released a slew of security updates last night. They
were downloaded for me, and I applied them this morning. Now ops con
doesn't connect at all!

Furthermore, if ops con is in 'Connecting console' status, I cannot
connect to the internet at all, nor can I send/receive email. Been on
the phone with SL already this morning, thet'll be getting back to me.

This is not fun anymore.
