RE: Synon/Cool 2E

Alex,

I'm sorry to say I'm not aware of anything that's free. We provide
on-site training (no this isn't intended as a vendor response) and CA
(the current owner of Synon) provides onsite and offsite training, but
none of these options are even close to free. <G>

I'm be very surprised to find out that there a copy of 2E available out
there for you to "play" with. Almost all licenses written for 2E are for
internal use only. Only a very few of us, with licenses from very long
ago, can even use our copies for development work for other companies.
Maintenance on 2E will run you 1000s per year, it's not the type of
thing someone is going to keep on an iSeries at home. 

If you do find something free please let me know.
