I don't have JDE either but some of our customers do. I heard from them
that with release 8.10 of EnterpriseOne they have an option to switch their
control tables (files) to Unicode (VARGRAPHIC - ccsid 13488). With 8.11
they have no option, they must switch both data and control tables to
Unicode.
Don't hold me to versioning though.

I'm not a JDE guy...but when I've done OS Upgrades on systems with JDE
(whatever flavor) there's always prep before and after of the JDE SW plus
specific PTFs the JDE requires and they aren't always on the CUMEs etc

Does anybody know of anything funky going on with JDE files under
V5R3?

We have a couple of different customers experiencing some
weirdness. In one case, they say they're in some sort of
intemediate stage in preparation for going to Unicode (any
idea what THAT could be?), and it's causing keyed access
to the files to behave strangely. In the other case (about
which I've also posted to the MI list), we've got what
appears to be a case where JDE files return funky
meta-data (through the system APIs for retrieving
meta-data) under V5R3, yet work fine under V5R2 and
earlier.

Anybody know of any weirdness that could be causing either
or both of these strange phenomena?
