Any tool that lists files in a query has a possibly fatal weakness - RUNQRY can override any of them to whatever file in whatever library you want, so long as the formats match. Although this is probably not done so much now, even the PEX analyzer tool from IBM takes advantage of this and makes it very hard to know what you are dealing with in that product - if you are into a reverse-engineering mode, that is. ;-) JMHO Vern -------------- Original message -------------- From: Dave Schnee <DSchnee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Chuck, Jim: There is a TAATOOL named "QRYUSE" that "provides commands to capture and display the files used in a Query. Both Query/400 (*QRYDFN) and Query Management (*QMQRY) objects types are supported." So, if you have the tools (see http://www.taatool.com) you can get what you want without an IBM API. Better than redoing ALL of them :-) But you do REALLY WISH IBM would come up with some way of doing this... Thanks !
