Walden,

PTFs are not applied on the next IPL if the last IPL was abnormal, as
determined from the system value QABNORMSW.

What are the differences between a normal and an abnormal IPL. I know
PTF's aren't applied on an abnormal IPL, and obviously the startup
program (QSTRUP) can check the switch and may do or not do certain
things, but I seem to recall there are other differences in the
operation of OS/400 after an abnormal IPL, but can't recall what they
are. Can I be enlightened? <G>

Thanks,
-Walden
