I think this was covered in another person's response, Bob.  Basically 
there are api's to clear the buffer, however, if they use an emulator, 
like iSeries Access for Windows instead of a dumb terminal then the api 
cannot clear that buffer, only the system buffer used to buffer dumb 
terminal keystrokes.
