You COULD call the QSYRUSRI API with format USRI0300, but a much simpler way is to use posiions 358-367 of the Program Status Data Structure (PSDS).

At least, I'm guessing that you're using positions 254-263. However that's actually the user component of the job identifier. The job identifier doesn't change when you swap user profiles, so that'll be inaccurate anytime you swap them (for example, in a network server program). Positions 358-367 are the "current" user profile, and will change when the user profile changes.
