Well I've not seen that problem, but restoring the LIC is not hard so don't be afraid of that. It's basically a 30 minute operation which when done correctly doesn't affect anything on the machine. Note that you may need to re-apply your current CUME and groups (minus the offending PTFs of course!!) after you slip the LIC.
