Excuse me if I misinterpreted your statement.  As written it is very 
ambiguous and I interpreted that as you saying that IBM had dropped 
support for the i5/OS.

In looking at the link you posted, I see nothing that says i5/OS support 
is ending.  The link lists multiple products that will not be supported on 
V5R4 of i5/OS.
