Everybody else has answered your question about saving the IFS directly to tape. Let me point out that if you save the entire IFS, you end up trying to save everything in the library file system again along with any windows shares the iSeries can see. Thus, the normal command for saving everything in the IFS not saved by some other method is: SAV DEV('/QSYS.LIB/media-device-name.DEVD') OBJ(('/*') ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT) ('/QDLS' *OMIT) ('/QNTC' *OMIT) UPDHST(*YES) HTH, Charles Wilt -- iSeries Systems Administrator / Developer Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America ph: 513-573-4343 fax: 513-398-1121 > -----Original Message----- > From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ryan Hunt > Sent: Wednesday, May 10, 2006 10:27 AM > To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: Re: SAVLIB LIB(*ALLUSER) > > Thanks for all the replies.
