I've got it set up and running under Tomcat here.

Note that Tomcat is officially supported:

V5R4 and V5R3 iSeries Access for Web servlets are supported with these
web application servers:

    * WebSphere Application Server (WAS) - Express V6.0 for OS/400.
      Refer to the service pack PTFs required for V5R3 and V5R2 iSeries
Access for Web.
    * WAS V6.0 for OS/400 (Base Edition).
      Refer to the service pack PTFs required for V5R3 and V5R2 iSeries
Access for Web.
    * WAS - Express for iSeries V5.1 and V5.0.
      Note that V5R2 iSeries Access for Web requires PTF SI11883
(5722XH2) or later to work with WAS - Express V5.1
    * WAS for iSeries V5.1 and V5.0 (Base and Network Deployment
Editions).
      Note that V5R2 iSeries Access for Web requires PTF SI11883
(5722XH2) or later to work with WAS V5.1
    * Apache Software Foundation's Jakarta Tomcat (included with the IBM
HTTP Server)
