And if you look at the documentation on index sharing w/DDS it only comes into play if FIFO, LIFO or FCFO is NOT specified. Otherwise you need an exact match. That is, think of FxFO as the last key. Since it's there in SQL you have two indices: Fld1+Fld2+Fld3+FIFO Fld1+Fld2+FIFO Where in dds you have Fld1+Fld2+Fld3 Fld1+Fld2 Thus sharing can occur. -Walden
