I also have a client running an AS36. I actually worked in POP the other day and remembered quite a bit. Also wrote a small OCL proc and built some F&I specs.

His home grown app runs perfectly. He will move to the smallest iSeries and run in S36EE mode. The interface to him and his users will be the same. The reports will be the same.

Yes, he will have IP connectivity and other niceties but until he rewrites his app (xlat=$$$$$$) he won't really be able to take advantage of the iSeries side.

The client has an M36 machine, but is not all that interested in
upgrading. I keep telling him he's working without a net, because the
number of folks who can do anything with that system are disappearing from
the market rapidly. His console really is a 5251 Mod 11.
