True enough. In some other forums, I've seen questions and complaints about why 
it's so difficult to get info out of spooled files under OS/400. Part of my 
responses are often that it's done using APIs, just like one would do under 
Windows; so what's the problem?

When I turn the question back to "How do you pull info from a Windows spooled 
file?", the complaints about difficulty generally fade.
