Yes - I do want to do my own.

reasonably priced HA solutions that use remote journaling.
I know of the existence of such products but I consider them expensive and overkill for my needs which are relatively simple as I only have few physical files and these all have exactly the same file layout with, as far as OS/400 is concerned, a single column key field, so I really only have to code the logic for one file and adapt it for the others.
