Hi!

It's a multi-format file and I don't want to use multiple physical files, a
logical file that uses each physical file and file format program to convert
it to native iseries data file...

It is like trying to kill a fly with a bazooka... It does the job but it
makes huge holes...

Drop the term "with a DDS". To me, that means no source is allowed on the
production machine, DDS included. You keep confusing me when you really
mean an externally described file versus an internally described file.

Just because there's no perceived "need" to make it externally defined, is
there any reason not to? After all, if you get it lined up right, the
other programs should be able to process it as internally described, eh?
