Prototypes are just for the compiler and are not stored in the module.
DBGVIEW does effect if the source is available in the object or not though.

I create a copybook per service program with the same name. I use a /If
defined - /Eof - /Define using the same name as the service program to keep
from recopying. I then use binding directories to group the service programs
by application/function and create a copybook with the same name as the
binding directory which contains a /copy of all the service program
copybooks in that binding directory.

This brings a question to mind:

If we /copy in a bunch of unused stuff, does the unused stuff get 
compiled into the program, or does it get ignored and left out?
