There should be a job on the remote machine for REXECD - try

NETSTAT *CNN

and look for the "exec" port, put opt 8 on it and see what the job is. You 
could try changing the logging, so that you see what might be happening. The 
job will be something like QTRXC00025.

I found that a new server job is started after the one that served my request 
is done and ended. Not sure about this behavior, other than something is always 
left running, to be available for the next request.
