We too have a Liebert.  The cable on the Liebert goes to a Liebert 8port 
device.  From there it goes to various ports on i5's and iSeries. 
CPI0964-Weak battery condition exists, is a common message upon every IPL 
for the iSeries' and the i5's.  We've been told that the cables going from 
the 8port to the machines are suspect.  And that may be.  They were made 
by a division of ours that we've since shut down.

We've about given up getting this to work right.  We're thinking of adding 
this other card that will let the Leibert participate in "alerts".  Then 
it can send these alerts to our alert processor and have that deal with 
it.
