The Word documents themselves can live on any kind of server, so that includes the IFS. But they need to be "visible" to the PC where Access (and Word) is running, using, say, a mapped network drive.

And viewing requires Word, but your users can still find the documents on a network drive that maps to something in the IFS. Having said that, the IFS is not the fastest thing in the world for serving files to Windows boxes, sorry to say.

FYI - we have a product that can take the results of an SQL SELECT on the iSeries and send it to a PC and do mail merge, etc. It's called Office Integrator and was first positioned to take the role of mail merge that OfficeVision had. If interested, call us at 888.RJS.SOFT or check out www.rjssoftware.com

We want to write a query probably using Access and pull that data into a
form letter, probably word. What is the easiest way to store those forms on
the Iseries in the IFS? Is there a way to view them on the Iseries once we
are done or do we have to view on the PC Side
