I haven't seen it suggested yet, which surprises me based on the number of
people on the lists who use it, but have you thought about using the TinyURL
service?

If you go to http://tinyurl.com you can shorten the URL considerably which
will hopefully let you get within the 123 character limit.

All the best

Subject: accessing webpage with url greater then 123

Hi all,

I am trying to access a website from the iseries as follows:

STRPCO PCTA(*NO)

MONMSG IWS4010

Chgvar &url 'http://archive.midrange.com/'

CHGVAR &CMD VALUE('rundll32.exe url.dll,FileProtocolHandler ' *bcat &url)

STRPCCMD PCCMD(&cmd) PAUSE(*no)

The problem I am having is when the command string is larger then 123.

Any suggestions of how to get around this restriction.

Thanks.
