No, Just type the date "31506" and the display will redisplay "03/15/06" One other thing with display dates and times, you can use the MAPVAL DDS option which will display as blanks when the field value is equal. A MAPVAL(('01/01/0001' *BLANK)) I have not used it with the 6 char date formats but I would play with the mapval until you are satisfied. You have to do the DDS by hand. I usually stick a 6/8 char field where I want the date then edit the DDS. The result should look something like: A DATE L B 1 2DATFMT(*MDY) Data type of "L" Duane Christen -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Michael_Schutte@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, March 15, 2006 11:25 AM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: date validate because you can't define a date field only in a DSPF, but you can define a timestamp. It's just easy to define a 6, 0 numeric field and apply and EDIT CODE to it.
