No.  Just kidding.

The problem is that you are testing the date field, which cannot be wrong 
- because it IS a date field.  You need to be testing the screen field 
before you move it into the date field.

Or, you could do a 
monitor;
DateField=%date(ScreenField:*ymd);
On-error;
  // Bad Date
EndMon;
