My preference will be going to V5R4 (mainly for the virtual tape addition), but it will depend on what other projects are hot in a few months (if one box goes to V5R4 then the others will have to also). The way I read it first was that the new 520+ models needed V5R3M5... i'll have to go back and read some more. rob@xxxxxxxxx Sent by: midrange-l-bounce To s@xxxxxxxxxxxx Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> 03/15/2006 08:10 cc AM Subject Re: Summary of "to-do" list for new Please respond to i5 upgrade Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> Me, I'd request a link to a url to get that for sure that the power 5+ processors can use V5R3M0. I'm not sure, and work is backing up. Would it just slay you to upgrade to V5R3M5 or V5R4? Most shipments are with V5R4M0 as that is the current OS level... OK V5R4 was just released as well But the Power5+ can use V5R3 as well as V5R4 the M5 was an interum release to just support the 2847 feature for SAN boot.
