We had a situation arise where our tape drive went bad on one of our
windows file servers.  My boss had the idea, that maybe as a temporary
move, we could backup the server onto the IFS.  We have enough fee disk
space to accommodate this.  

However, during testing of this, he found that it was taking an
extremely long time to copy files.  I know the IFS is slow, but I guess
we are wondering if there may be other issues involved.  

For instance a 13 mb file took well over 4 minutes to copy to the IFS.  

Is it that the IFS is just extremely slow, or is there some
configuration that might affect this?
