My first guess on how to stop them would be to turn the trace off. I don't know 
if they're for server or client SMTP jobs, but you can find out:

 ==>  trctcpapp  *smtpsvr  set( *chk )

Also run it for *SMTPCLT.

If tracing is on, you'll get a message saying so. You can then use SET(*OFF) or 
probably better for you SET(*END).
