V5R4 vs QNTC

I've had some issues using QNTC in V5R4.  For example if I do
WRKLNK '/QNTC/myserver/*'
I will not see the list of shares.  However if I change my default wait 
time from *nomax to
CHGJOB DFTWAIT(9999999)
or some other value, then it will work.
I opened up a pmr on it.  I was told the above is the solution.  I then 
asked if they were going to update the "Memo to Users".  They aren't.  An 
apar will be opened for documentation.
