The Materialize Machine Attributes (_MATMATR1) MI builtin returns the
machine initialization status record for option x'0108' - documentation to
be found here:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzatk/MATMATR.htm#SPTMAT0108

Included in this record is a number of UPS status bits, f.x. bit 8:
"Uninterrupted power supply installed" - would that be the information that
you're looking for?

Let me know if you want an RPG/IV example of retrieving those bits.
