OK, I tried it again, and the trigger did fire, only this time I had a
really stripped down library list like yours, so the trigger program
threw an error when it didn't find the files it needed to open.  

Before, I didn't have the libraries of the file or the trigger program
(both of which were in our Q/A environment) in my lib list, but I did
have our production libraries in the list, which had all the files
necessary for the trigger program to open.  So the trigger fired, but
failed to find a matching record in the production file, so nothing got
changed in either environment, and I assumed the trigger had not fired.


It's Friday.  Apologies to Walden if I freaked him out, and thanks to
Rob for taking the time to set me straight.  A pox on whoever the OP was
that got me started playing with this in the first place (just kidding).
