I worked on a Singer System 10, which was a decimal machine. The documentation actually said, the machine ignored 2 bits that were not necessary to the operation of the machine. Being that it was at the beginning of my career, I found it strange but had nothing to compare it to expect the IBM 1130 I worked on in college.
