It appears that iSeries is send a PING to our mainframe over the Token Ring connection every 5 minutes. I can't find anything on the Ethernet Network (all the user PC's) that is causing it. The only thing on the Token Ring is the mainframe. The IP address in the of 172.22.1.4 is the TOKEN Ring on the iSeries. Any suggestions on how to locate the originator of the PING request ? This the message on the mainframe: 000D: IPC108I ICMP Echo request has been received from: 172.22.1.4 Jeffry A.
