You could pipe it through tee, like:

QSH CMD( 'Do qshell command | tee -a MyOutputFile' )

but that's still not exactly what you're asking for. At least that would let 
you see it on the screen.

That's all my bright ideas.

 I'm looking to retain the interactive part, not just to have a log.  Also,
if I'm not mistaken, redirection of the output will remove it from view
while it's executing, right?  I'm also looking to avoid that result.

 On the /400, the way it reatins that info is via the "BATCHI" type job. 
The F12 Disconnect method from the QSH interactive session provides this. 
I'm just trying to find out how to do this programmatically.
