Methinks your perception of history is distorted.

They need a better documentation of "that point".  Perhaps the other 
logging isn't necessary.  Or, why doesn't it submit the other job itself? 
We have plants in several states and a couple of countries but the systems 
department is gone at 5pm.  Who needs a night operator?
