You know what I'd really like?  And this is pure blue sky, mind you... but
I'd like a way to define platform-neutral prototypes.  You could define 
the parameters using a platform-neutral syntax, and they'd be 
auto-magically
mapped to the appropriate type for the language at hand.  That way we 
could create a single prototype for each module.

Very intriguing thought.  Assuming the communications are in place, using 
this enhancement could really allow the iSeries to integrate more easily 
into the balance of the world.

One question does come to mind.  If the target machine were Linux (who 
cares what distro) and you wanted to get at the C++ calls for MySQL, say 
to create a user handle, how would you want to see the thing get built?
