It also can depend on what options are installed, in particular Qshell. Note that many Qshell utilities can send to stdout. Also, stdout can be redirected to a streamfile. But, for many purposes, streamfiles and user spaces can be interchangeable. E.g., it's possible to redirect to something like /qsys.lib/qgpl.lib/myspc.usrspc. Once the space is populated, CL can access it easily via QUSRTVUS. One potential problem would be when the redirected output would exceed the 16MB limit. Tom Liotta
