Hi Mike, you have 2 posibilities: 1. Define POSTCAT as varying length field and remove the trailing Blanks with the Built-in-Functions %Trim() or %TrimR() 2. Use the SQL scalar functions TRIM or RTRIM to move off the trailing Blanks: C/EXEC SQL C+ SELECT SOSST, SOSH#, SOCTC INTO :Street, :house, :city FROM C+ SRVOUT00 WHERE SOSAD like RTRIM(:POSTCAT) C/END-EXEC Birgitta "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance" (Derek Bok) -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: midrange-l-bounces+birgitta.hauser=lp-gmbh.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces+birgitta.hauser=lp-gmbh.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Im Auftrag von Smith, Mike Gesendet: Donnerstag, 26. SELECT SOSST, SOSH#, SOCTC from SRVOUT00 WHERE SOSAD like '7 Frank% ' However, I am trying to run a Select into inside a program without success. Here is what I have C/EXEC SQL C+ SELECT SOSST, SOSH#, SOCTC INTO :Street, :house, :city FROM C+ SRVOUT00 WHERE SOSAD like :POSTCAT C/END-EXEC After executing I receive a SQLCOD = 100 The value of :POSTCAT is POSTCAT = '7 Frank% ' Any ideas?
