If you don't want a PC in the mix, take a look at Yahoo or Google.

Since you already appear to know Java you could purchase a print framework
toolkit.

Search on Java/Print/RTF.

There appears to be several available on the web.

Happy hunting.

subject: Printing RTF files from iSeries (w/ or w/out Java)

All,

We've got RTF files stored in a table on the iSeries (we generate them
via a WebSphere application that takes a RTF "template" and merges in
the necessary substitution data). Now we need to print these files.
Obviously I could open the RTF in word and hit print, but that requires
a human, or at least a PC loaded w/word since we could automate the
human part.

I'm wondering what my other options are. Perhaps a RTF to PS converter,
then I could simply stream the PS to the printer, right? Or an RTF to
PDF, but then how do I print the PDF?
