I've seen the discussion before but I feel I have to ask again, does anybody
have a good feel for the AS/400 market in general and specifically for Sys
admins?

Help Systems offers some internet/webinar classes -- some are for their
products, but they also offer a basic operations class and a basic security
class.  A network administrator here took a couple and found them helpful.
