Supported is no big deal.  If you have problems with one system or the 
other you unplug it and determine if that is the problem, if not you call 
IBM and leave it hooked up to just one machine until the CE leaves.

Not like the day I tried to plug in an ASCII workstation controller into 
the wrong card.  The first bad sign was the rather large arc of 
electricity.
