Outfile from QMQRY does not wrap - wrap is for print and display only. So no help for this problem, unless you CPYSPLF, maybe.

What kind of "source" do you have in the file?

Just because the file attribute is PF-SRC doesn't mean it must contain "source" for a compile, so what type of data is in there? Are you storing some kind of text and you want to shorten it and preserve word-wrap?

Or is it actual source that might have formatting problems if the records are split?

One general possibility that comes to mind is a QM query and form that does column splitting at word breaks (white-space). I've never done it to an outfile; but even if it's to a spooled file, it can be transformed back to a physical file.
