Per email from IBM working as designed: The GENOPT(*UIM) option does not retrieve and format existing online help UIM source. That option is intended to be used against commands for which you want to add online help. If you have ever written your own CL commands and considered doing online help for the commands, the GENCMDDOC with OPTION(*UIM) makes that sooooo much easier! It generates all the "boilerplate" UIM tags you need, including an 'Error messages' sample section which you would edit to reflect the possible errors returned by your CL command. I hope that helps explain why GENCMDDOC with GENOPT(*UIM) didn't return the same error message information as GENOPT(*HTML) which retrieves the existing online command help and formats it as an HTML document. Mark Allen <allenmar@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: In STMF file created for CRTDUPOBJ using GENCMDDOC command the HTML output shows messages possible the same as if you used the Help text for the command while the UIM output is missing anything less than CPF9801 (i.e. in the HTML it shows CPF2105 as a possible msg while that msg is missing from the UIM stream file. Am I missing something or is this "working as designed"? Mark Allen allenmar@xxxxxxxxx Home: 859 635 5980 --------------------------------- Yahoo! Shopping Find Great Deals on Holiday Gifts at Yahoo!
