To be more specific, RPG has no problem using an SQL view either.

But one must remember that an SQL view has no keys.

Thus the only way RPG can use the SQL view is via sequential reads or
via RRN.

The fact that SQL views don't have keys means that they aren't usually
useful in an RPG program.
