>Drives me nuts sometimes to see a query that joins 5 files and has a dozen calculated fields. Not to mention that they you'll have one "standard" definition of a formula. I recall a company where 1/2 the reports computed GP% one way and 1/2 computed it another way and they had no idea why their reports didn't match. What fun! However, I have seen cases where removing a UDF and replacing it with inline code significantly increased the performance of a query -- however, that UDF had incline selects that could be replaced w/a join statement. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x3051 WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
