Same here. Only problem I have very rarely w/ the 3581 is sometimes it doesn't continue on to the next blank tape automatically. I have it set to SEQ. I think it has something to do w/ the Command that saves - it has to be on *UNLOAD? -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Burns, Bryan Sent: Tuesday, November 15, 2005 9:51 AM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: 3570 Tape Drive Moving Write Protect Tabs Buzz, I used a 3570 for five years here at ECHO. More than once, I inadvertently moved the write protect tab while handling a cartridge and didn't realize it until our backups failed. Just wanted point it out that it's not that hard to move the tab. Fortunately, we bought a 3581 when we upgraded to an i5 in the Spring. They both rock! We've had IBM hardware support look at ours (more than once) and have not found any cause yet, which is a real bugger when your GO SAVE decides to balk on you at 2:00 AM Saturday morning!
