The iSeries access to remote datasources is based on DRDA. You need to have DB2 and WebSphere Information Integrator on a server that can access your MS SQL Server, and then wrapper the MS SQL Server so that it looks like a DB2 datasource to the iSeries. Then you just point to that database as a remote database.
