You don't set the port in the 3488 setup, you select the twinax address.
What is the system value for QAUTOCFG? The port is the actual port
number on the Twinax controller. The address is the twinax address 0-7
if memory serves me. Often it doesn't. :-)
If you have a device already configured for that port/address
combination, and it is varied on, it won't auto configure.

Subject: Connecting 3488 workstation

I'm trying to connect a 3488 InfoWindow II, but I am not having any
luck. I went into setup and selected the necessary port on the
controller that it is being connected to. I assumed that it would then
autoconfigure. It didn't. Assuming that the connection, controller, and
InfoWindow are working correctly should it autoconfig at this point? The
part that is really puzzling is the printer that is daisy chained on the
same cable autoconfigured right away at that port. I've tried 2
different 3488's and tried removing the printer. I still can't manage to
get a device created. Both of the InfoWindows were recently purchased,
so I would think that they in working order. Does anyone have suggestion
as to where I can begin troubleshooting?

Thanks,

Griz
