I don't recall that as a S/36 thing - however, the same warning applies toS/36 screens - if you change the order of the fields in the display file,then you'll have to MANUALLY change the input specs for the fields in theRPGII program that uses the display file...


I just think you took too much LDS in the 60's... :))

However, One place you are NEVER supposed to resequence the DDS is if youare modifying the DDS supplied by IBM for the QDSIGNON display file (thesign-on display)...this DDS can be modified but NOT resequenced...

Sometimes these old programs had the dds specs in a certain order for
display purposes.  The memory is dim, but if these are SYS/36 programs you
may get new and unexpected cursor progression, if the memory cells are
functioning right.

Thanks all, knew I could do it (just haven't had/wanted to in years)....

and being paranoid (which does not mean they are NOT out to get me) ANY chg
I make to any file and recompile I ALWAYS (well most of the time) recompile
affected programs......
