On October 15 we tested our disaster recovery procedure. Our production
machine (an 810) has 3 LPARS. LPAR 0 is production, LPAR 1 is
development and LPAR 2 is a High Availability target machine. We
recovered LPAR 0 but we ran into the following problem.
We used a go save option 21 of LPAR 0 to restore everything.
Steps 2 and 3 recovered user libraries from a weekly SAVLIB and daily
SAVCHGOBJ that was run on the High Availability LPAR. The problem was
we restored QGPL, QSYS2 and QUSRSYS from our High Availability target
machine and overwrote these libraries from the go save option 21.
I've figured out how to use the high availability software to direct
file and object changes to a different library and have started to
redirect QGPL, QSYS2, and QUSRSYS but are their other "System" libraries
that have user data in them?
