My company has had several systems over the years... (Did I mention that I'm from Texas - lol?) AS/400 F35 named "BUBBA" AS/400 B10 named "JUNIOR" Small S/36 (5364) named "PEEWEE" Small RS/6000 named "SPANKY" AS/400 40S (still in service) named "BERTHA" AS/400 Portable (still in service) named "SMALLFRY"I recall that Blockbuster Video names them mostly after movies...(who'd a thunkit)...
One system is named "THNDRDOM" (Thunderdome) and another system is named "MADMAX" But I don't know why their development system is named "SNOOPY" Regards, Steve Landess Austin, Texas (512) 423-0935----- Original Message ----- From: "Evelyn Hoover" <evelynhoover@xxxxxxxxxx>

I suppose they could make things up if they were so inclined. I'm not sure why anyone would. Neil will be following up with those who submit. How will you know people aren't just making up a name to give you? Aren't you going to need some sort of proof for editorial accuracy? -----Original Message----- From: "Evelyn Hoover"<evelynhoover@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: 10/19/05 12:37:31 PM To: "midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx"<midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: system names eServer Magazine, iSeries edition is working on a short article on what people name their systems. For instance, one small college in Minnesota named its new iSeries after the college's first administrator. So we're looking for system names that are out of the ordinary (e.g., dinosaur species, sports teams, etc.). If you have one or know of one, please send a message OFF-LIST to Neil Tardy, editor_njt@xxxxxxxxxx Thanks for your assistance.
